Project: 6D pose estimation for random bin picking

The problem to solve is in the category of "random bin picking" of metallic pieces. Object segmentation and pose estimation become difficult as a result of the reflective metallic nature, exasperated by variable light conditions. Moreover, CAD models may not be available for certain parts. Readily available commercial solutions are not suitable for the task required.
