Development of unmanned surface vehicle

Conception d'embarcations nautiques autonomes

Development of unmanned surface vehicle

DESCRIPTION

Unmanned Surface Vehicle commonly called USV, are unable to navigate in uncontrolled riverine environnement. They must therefore be supervised at all times in order to avoid obstacles such as shoals, shore and other obstacles on the surface of the water. This is particularly problematic when the objective is to carry out bathymetry on the largest possible surface of a water body, while having only the information provided by a GPS. Not to mention that when the boat gets stuck, it is difficult to recover. The goal of the project is then to design a navigation system capable of determining and avoiding risked areas. This frees up the operator while having greater bathymetric coverage. The project is in collaboration with ABTech (https://www.abtech.cc) which specializes in the sale and repair of surveying equipment. An internship will be carried out to design the boat during the winter of 2022, in order to be able to carry out tests and validate the operation of the navigation system during the summer of 2022. The designed boat will then be operated, repaired and sold in ABTech’s equipment catalog
